A 23-year-old British lady from London had just gotten engaged and was sharing a few drinks with her boyfriend in honor of the event in the Dubai Marine Hotel. While using the bathroom, though, she was attacked and raped by a bartender. When the young lady pressed charges against the bartender, she herself and not the perpetrator was arrested because she had shared a hotel room with her boyfriend while not being married to him, and of all evils drank alcohol with him.

The officers had absolutely no interest in the rape, moreover their interest was piqued by the fact that the unmarried couple drank alcohol and had sex in their hotel room.

On numerous occasions the police officer questioned the couple and declared that unmarrieds in the United Arab Emirates are forbidden to have sex, and that in the Islamic country alcohol is an absolute taboo. In short order the copule was arrested and put in jail.

Now this couple is sitting behind bars because they reported a rape, their accusation being illegal sex and forbidden consumption of alcohol. They don’t understand the world anymore…

Sex in a wild marriage – that is incompatible with Dubai’s morality, and local foreigners (non-Muslims) are allowed to purchase alcoholic drinks only with a valid alcohol license.

The couple must now stand before a judge in Dubai. And furthermore, the bartender who challenged the fact will not be punished.
