Beheaded — Mom of 4 — in the name of honor?

The 37-year-old Ebtisam M., a mom of four, was beheaded in Kerpen-Horrem (in Northrhein-Westphalia, Germany). Her children (6, 11, 14 and 16 years old) found the body in a pool of blood. In addition, the fingers were cut off the victim. Judging according to the Arabic name of the victim, it deals possibly with an “honor” beheading with amputation.

District Attorney Alf Willwacher, however, wishes to render “no commentary regarding the kind of injuries.” The Cologne Homicide Commission is still groping in the dark in their search for the brutal murderer, even though the 41-year-old husband, S., was coincidentally found cleaning out the apartment, and then he was picked up by a friend: “He is considered a witness, not a suspect.” There is still no suspect, and the weapon still hasn’t been found either.

Dany, let me remind you that not all religions are bad. My religion has built more then 350,000 hospitals, clinics, orphanages, homes for the aged, burn centers, primary and secondary schools, colleges, universtities.

On the other hand, all atheistic regimes like Nazism, Communism, and Fascism have been very evil just like Islam.

Honour killings are strictly prohibited in Islam. You people should really stop commenting about something you know absolutely nothing about. This is muder, nothing else. Murder, in any form is strictly prohibited in Islam. This phenomenon is in any case, a global one. And mind you, Islam grants women more liberty than any other religion in the world. I would suggest you all to get your facts straight before you comment here =)

The verse you mentioned does not, in any way, encourage honour killings. It has absolutely nothing to do with honour killings.To begin, this verse is referring to a SPECIFIC BATTLE, this verse is not an order on Muslims, and this verse is talking about a battle that took place. The battle it is referring to is the battle of Badr.
Now off course during a battle in those days you would aim for the neck to get an immediate blow, and off course you would also aim for their fingers, once taking out their fingers the enemy would not be able to carry his sword hence you neutralize the enemy.
The Quran is loaded with Surahs that emphasize on the equality of gender. Islam condemns the murder of human beings. Honour killings have nothing to do with our faith, it has more to do with culture. Islam is a religion of peace and some uneducated people who know nothing about it have misinterpreted it. You, my friend, really need to do your research!

It only says in fact that Muslims are forbidden to kill other Muslims, period. They are entirely at liberty to kill the ,,infidels“ with impunity if they are feel oppressed“ by them.

Your Statement: ,, emphasize on the equality of gender.“ Now, It so happens that I have read the Qura‘an quite a number of times. If your eyes have failed to see discrimination against women, try to read Surah 4 10 times and you must end up understanding what it says there.

AS FOR THE UNFORTUNATE LADY IN QUESTION WHO LOST HER LIVE VERY LIKELY DUE TO HER HUSBANDS ACTIONS – There is a 90% possibility that it was a honor killing. And there are plenty of paragraphs in the Qura‘an that would authorize that. If she had become too westernized then that alone would suffice to consider her an apostate and thereby subject to killing.

Mr. Skuli, we are only allowed to defend ourselves from non-muslims if they attack us. I'm sure if any man, regardless of his faith, attacks you, you will surely have to defend yourself somehow right? The Quran says that non-Muslims are supposed to be treated kindly and have given them just as many rights as we have ourselves. It does not allow us to go around aimlessly and kill people for for fun.

There is NO Surah in the Quran the justifies honour killing. Honor killing is prohibited in Islam. Honor killing is murder and a murderer is not a Muslim. People have mis-interpreted Islam. No educated human being would commit this non- Islamic act.
