In an official statement from the English Defence League yesterday, it was said that the EDL members in on-going detention are being constantly beaten by Jihadists while the guards look away and permit this to happen. In this, the prison has neglected its duty to care for its prisoners.

No prisoner is allowed to be discriminated against on the basis of their race, skin color, religion, sexual orientation or political views — not even EDL members. Even groups themselves critical of Islam also have human rights, and no less a right to human dignity and protection than the one seeking asylum or the terrorist. Not to uphold these rights is a violation against the British Prison Ordinance paragraph 1215.
