I must now revise my opinion about the SZ (Süddeutsche Zeitung – South German Newspaper). To this point, they have always come across as the South German Dhimmi Newspaper, that was incorrect, we’re dealing here with the South German Dawa Newspaper. The veil has been lifted, and like before, even now they are looking for some means to disguise themselves.
(Original Germ PI-article from Epistemology, Translated by Anders Denken)
Now, this really means the goat has turned into the gardener (the child has been let loose in the candy shop). One could just as well set up a teaching position for nose piercing research. One truly would be throwing no less money to the wind.
“Enlightened Islam,” now that’s already an oxymoron, a contradiction in itself. According to the declarations of Islamic theologists — that the Eugen-Biser endowment has blessed us with — the Quran is God’s word and message so much so, that enlightenment in and of itself is superfluous for Islam, it is utterly impossible.
In Islam, they (the thinkers of the Christian West) saw the realization of the self-limitation of the religious by reason and enlightenment that they had sorely missed in Christianity.
Far be it from me to doubt that there were some things that were bad in Christianity, when considering reason and enlightenment, but should just such an ideology like Islam, which is so irrational and antithetic to science, be the solution?
The German Science Council … in contrast, suggested the opposite, that is even to anchor Islamic theology in German Universities, with its own institutes and with the same scientific authority as Christian theology.
Aha! Now we shall learn at the university how one can scientifically perform stoning, carry out honor murders, or lead the way to forced marriages. Of course, the scientific foundation for paedophilia will be handed down, being easily understood by a three-part construction.
Enlightened theology … is it for the sake of the religion itself? Because a religion that knows no borders or scruples anymore either grows stiff or it turns into a crusading fundamentalism.
Such an enlightened understanding! Only, where are the borders and scruples in Islam?
Believers and scholars who are both devout and enlightened in this form are profoundly absent in Islam. They aren’t absent because of the fact that Islam is principally adverse to education, incapable of reform, and aggressive — just like the assumption of that dull criticism of Islam that was spread around in the 19th century and served as the stereotype at the time that Muslims are exotic, erotic and uncapable of thinking.
The first sentence can stand on its own. The second one needs some correction. Islam, from the ground up, is “antagonistic to education, incapable of reform, and aggressive”. Dedicated Muslims are incapable of thinking, not erotic, rather much more sexually perverted, geared up to jump any mammal-like creature, male or female, or any other copulable object that could be arranged for them.
This has to do with the future of theology altogether, with the future of a religiosity that opposes growing fundamentals. They are truly not just a purely Muslim problem.
Mr. Drobinski, it has absolutely nothing to do with that, rather it has much more to do with exposing and fighting a fascist ideology that has disguised itself as religion.
…They could, however, give Islam, which seeks a home in Europe, room for doubt and questions — room for the capability of reflection and win back the self-control that it once had.
OK, anyone can seek, but in Europe Islam finds no home; in addition, the thought processes are fundamentally too diverse, whereby I really don’t want to speak about the thought processes of Muslims; they are religiously instilled imbecility.
This idea of reflection and self-control – those are beautiful words and hopes, somewhat typically western, naive concepts. According to the motto that we developed through the Age of Enlightenment, that also happens to be quite relaxed now in Islam. When, at anytime, should there be any ideas of reflection and self-control? When the self-proclaimed prophet killed the Jews from Yathrib, or when he attacked the caravans from Mecca? Perhaps one should look at later times, when the Muslims conquered Spain and India, or when the Turks beseiged Vienna, or when Khomeini seized power in Tehran.
Islam has always been antagonistic to enlightenment, ill-disposed to any criticism, and solidly preoccupied with world domination. Every form of civilization and culture is deeply foreign to and hated in Islam. And, unfortunately, Matthias Drobinski cannot change these things.
