Or we can admit that Islam is so far away from Western culture, that for all practical purposes it can be from another planet. Therefore, as Muslims make life so uncomfortable and dangerous for all of us, and from Muslim complaints one gathers, that Muslims themselves are deeply unhappy and offended by our customs, the best thing is for Muslims to be offered a choice – 'abandon Islam for good or take yourself and your Islam with you to where you are more comfortable'.

Seems eminently reasonable to me, considering that the alternative is a civil war fast approaching, that will leave millions dead.
