Newborn Baby Victim of Honor Killing

In Turkey, an unmarried mother and six other people were arrested because a two-day-old girl had to die in the name of Islamic “honor”. The mother explained the murder of her daughter unemotionally: “My family decided to kill my baby. My 55-year-old mother stabbed the baby to death with a piece of some kind of material. After that, my brother buried the child in a hole in the garden and filled it with cement.

The doctor who brought the girl into the world put himself as much at fault as the collaborators in the crime because, for a payment, he took care of not entering the child into the birth record. The police found the body through a tip from an anonymous caller. The father of the child is currently in military service and had nothing to do with the murder.

humanity is plagued by fear and hatred….and to kill a baby for reasons of honour is scraping the very bottom of the pit. I say, dredge the lake and bring up the bones for all to see. If we do nothing to turn the tide then we are ALL guilty of allowing evil to flourish…But maybe i speak to soon, because at least now we can see what is happening, so can we can move from the impotence of condemnation onto the real question : What can we do to transform our diseased societies into something beautiful, so that we can live in peace and harmony and create a nurturing environment for all? where do we begin?
