In a press conference, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took a stand regarding Israel’s dealings with the “peace activists” and turned against the renewed hypocrisy of the partisan critics like that which broke out back in the military operation against Gaza last year. The fact is that Hamas will smuggle weapons into Gaza by any means possible.
There are the attempts to hit more and more Israeli cities using rockets with ever longer ranges in order to kill as many civilians as possible. Iran also is interested in the Gaza base for battling against Israel and the West. There is absolutely no reason for a humanitarian aid initiative, since Gaza receives sufficient aid supplies from Israel enough that nobody need suffer from lack. The rational thinker must realize that the motivation for the Gaza flotilla was something else. The Israeli soldiers were downright lured onto the flagship Marmara through deception. They defended themselves because they had been seriously injured and their lives threatened.
That was no “love boat” full of “peace activists”, rather a “hate boat” full of terrorists. However, for much of the international public, Israel, in contrast, is presumed guilty until the guilt can be proved, instead of the other way around. Everone feigns that Israel has the right to defend itself, but let’s attack Israel just as soon as this right is employed. How would another country have possibly reacted against this constant bombardment? Israel will not apologize for defending itself and protecting the lives of its citizens. Israel must be allowed to defend itself as any other country does.

The idea that these actions on the part of the activists weren’t necessarily peaceful was no less evident to some individuals:

Thousands of Turks, meanwhile, have already publicly admitted that they are fans of Hamas and take to the streets against Israel.
