The Iranian government recently published a document that more clearly than ever calls for the destruction of Israel. There is a call for setting up a massacre against the Jewish people and the destruction of all their property holdings in the whole world. The demands have immediately appeared on the islamic website alef.ir that is closely tied to the highest leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (photo). In so many words it says there: “We shall not let the opportunity pass to eliminate the Jews.” There is the “jurisprudential justification” for killing all Jews and destroying Israel, and the “islamic government of Iran must therefore take over the command.”

The text was compiled by islamic analyst and strategist Alireza Forghani who is in close connection with Khamenei – and it was copied on most of the Iranian government websites. It also appeared in the reports from the news agency Fars, which is controlled by the revolutionary guard.

“Total Destruction in Nine Minutes”

The paper states that Iran has a foundation according to islamic law to carry out a destructive attack on Israel, since Israel intends to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities. Alireza Forghani writes that Iran could destroy Israel within nine minutes. A first shot with short-range ballistic missles would hit targets in Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem, along with power stations, nuclear facilities, telecommunications and treatment facilities, airports and traffic infrastructure. In a second step, the Shahab-3 and Ghader would be fired at the most densely settled parts of the country: “Total destruction in nine minutes.”

Forghani justifies the attacks on civilians by appealing to the rule mentioned by Ayatollah Khomeini that Muslims should wage war in Jihad against enemies that would proceed aggressively against an islamic nation. Forghani intends to unite other arabic states in the war against Israel: “When Israel attacked and occupied Palestine, it was an obligation for all Muslims to stand with this part of the islamic world against the oppression of Palestinian Muslims – and also to attack Israel.”

All-Embracing Jihad – Also in Military Territory

On the page with the headline “Jurisprudential foundation for the extermination of Israel” is described precisely what and how one is to understand the system of Jihad on various levels. Namely, Jihad – having the same meaning as “trouble and hardship” and the sacrifice in all areas: that Allah’s way brings with it in discomforts and renouncements for the achievement of its objectives: in economic, political, cultural and military territory.
