The Gates of Vienna blog, which was shut down by Google a few days ago, has moved and can now be reached at the new address As the owners report, the blog is still not completely set up, but it’s functional, and comments can also be made already.

The old blog address is still reachable again, but since Google took the blog of the internet twice in one week, they concluded that they should become independent of Google and stay with the new address.

Since links cannot be forwarded from the old blog address, Gates of Vienna asks all bloggers and other users who have linked to Gates of Vienna, for example on their blogrolls, to change these links to the new address when possible. This is important most of all because with the new address the link popularity of years has been lost, which is a deciding factor for good placement in search engine results.

Therefore, PI calls on all readers, on as many platforms as possible – in their own blogs, on Twitter, Facebook, bookmark services, and wherever links can be put – to point to the new address, and at all possible not just to the start page, but also to important articles.
