The Lübecker Nachrichten newspaper reports from a confusing story. After the Muslim’s arrested perpetrator was released, they returned to the synagogue. Allegedly to apologize for their attack.
Stone Throwing at Synagogue:
Police Apprehend Suspects

Lübeck – Two men broke four window panes by throwing rocks and were arrested while fleeing. A little later they returned unhindered to the crime scene. They wanted to apologize.

In the early afternoon of New Year’s Day there was rock throwing at the synagogue. There were four window panes broken in the first and and in second story where there are apartments. The perpetrators could be arrested on Mühlenstraße only a few minutes afterward through tips from the police officer on duty responsible for the permanent surveillance of the Jewish house of worship on St.-Annen-Straße. “I just happened to look out the window,” a resident said, “over a longer period of time there were two men standing there in front of the wall at the synagogue. All at once they took rocks out of their jacket pockets and threw them at the building. Then they ran quickly away.” Later, it came out that the rocks were anywhere from three to five centimeters in size.

The police secured the personal data of the 20-year-old and the 28-year-old and produced a charge of property damage. What happened after called the protectors of order back to duty: the two men – free on foot in the meantime – returned only one and a half hours later. They were able to get to the site unhindered through the unsecured and unlocked entryway and get within a few meters of the building. Two officers of the so-called 24-hour criminal readiness service were directly at the site in order to gather clues and to question the residents after the incident.

Both perpetrators went directly to the two plainclothes officers and a resident of the complex and admitted to being the “rock throwers.” They wanted to apologize according to their own profession and therefore ring the doorbell. Their request was immediately and brusquely rejected by the resident present. Nonetheless, a minutes-long discussion burned at the synagogue premisses; the two men were expelled from the property and, after the arrival of two patrol cars, brought to the authorities’ highrise. It is important to Carola Aßmann, of police public relations, the evidence that at the time of the conversation there was no danger for the residents.

The 20-year-old suspect came from Lübeck according to Stefan Muhtz of the Lübeck police administration. He was considerably intoxicated; a voluntary text yielded a tentative blood alcohol count of 2.23 ppm. In addition, the press speaker stated: “The second suspect is 28 year old. He comes from Tunisia and has German citizenship. He has a court-appointed counsellor. The man was only lightly intoxicated. A voluntary test yielded 0.5 ppm as a tentative value.” Both men were released again in an arrangement with the Lübeck district attorney.

The speaker for the Lübeck district attorney, Klaus-Dieter Schultz, indicates regarding the further action: “Investigational procedures were initiated in view of general property damage. But we must now wait for the results of the investivative services.” Grounds for a “commission of an act in connection with national property rights” don’t exist at the current time, said another reference. The Jewish Community didn’t wish to make a statement regarding the incident.

October 2005 was the last time the synagogue was the target of a similar attack. An unidentified individual threw a bottle at the house of worship; it broke out a window over the main entrance. The constant surveillance of the building by the police has been going on since the arson attacks of 1994 and 1995.

The Israeli party “Our House Israel” has introduced a bill that is supposed to forbid the loud slaughtering call to prayer of the muezzin. Muezzin calls by loudspeaker are noise and are harmful to health, representative Anastasia Michaeli (photo) says. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supports the plans of the Israeli coalition partner.

While in some European countries, the muezzin call by loudspeaker is likewise (still) forbidden, the media are now attacking Israel and speaking of terrible “discriminations.” Die Tagesschau, for example, with its correspondent Sebastian Engelbrecht sees in the bill a “discrimination against Israel’s Arab citizens”:

Perhaps the muezzin in the Israeli-Arabic city Kafr Kassem will soon no longer give the call to prayer. Kafr Kassem lies only a few hundred meters away from the Jewish-Israeli city Rosh Ha’ayin near Tel Aviv. The noise from the prayer call carries over into Rosh Ha’ayin five times daily. But these conditions should soon come to an end. Prime Minister Netanyahu supports a corresponding bill that coalition partner “Our House Israel” intends to put through the Knesset. The 400 mosques in Israel should soon be forbidden from amplifying the call of the muezzin with a loudspeaker.

Knesset representative Anastassia Michaeli, of the rightwing populist party “Our House Israel” thinks hundreds of thousands of Israeli citizens have suffered daily under the noise of the muezzin calls. Michaeli said on an Israeli television show: “That is not an action to stop mouths, rather, on the contrary, it is supposed to help many citizens out that have turned to me. We only wish to correct and change and find a middle path between the keeping of tradition and the necessity of protecting the environment. (…) At the moment, we are talking only about places of worship, and yes, absolutely – places of worship, that also includes churches.”

Even the ringing of bells will be forbidden

According to the law, the ringing of bells by churches in Arab areas will be forbidden in the future. Almost 20 percent of Israeli citizens are Muslim or Christian Arabs. Therefore, mosques and churches are as much a part of Israel as synagogues. But Mrs. Michaeli – and Prime Minister Netanyahu with her – believe religion should not encroach on the people’s quality of life.

Netanyahu bases his support for the bill with the argument that Israel, in this matter, must “not be more liberal than Europe.” The problem is exactly the same in Belgium and France, and there it is legitimate to ban the muezzin call by loudspeaker. Many people had complained to him because of the noise coming from the minarets, Netanyahu said in the Ministers’ Circle of his Likud Party.

Representative Michaeli is concerned for the health of the people in Israel. “When I heard how seriously people suffer from this, I met with some doctors, specialists, who told me what problems could arise when someone is subject to loud noise.”

Resistance against the bill

Within the Likud resistance is mounting against the intention of the coalition partner and the Prime Minister. Minister of Culture Limor Livnat and Minister of the Secret Service Dan Meridor reject the idea of actually forbidding the muezzin call. Meridor believes such a law is needless and would only lead to an escalation of tensions between Jews and Arabs.

The so-called muezzin law is one of many laws and bills of the Netanyahu government that effectively discriminate against Israel’s Arab citizens.

An important step. Israel has the right and the duty to protect its Jewish values from the Arabic outcry.

My motivation for being there was to hear journalist Ulrich W. Sahm (photo right with microphone), who is known as the Middle East correspondent for Israelnetz.com, n-tvv, CNN, etc., and who just the day before held an outstanding lecture in Reutlingen.

(By Grundgesetzwatch / Translation: Anders Denken)

Ester Shapira, one of the announced speakers, regretfully had to turn down the platform discussion. The other events during the next two weeks will most certainly be put together with class. However, during the opening activity, I had to swallow strongly some times because the planners from the Württemberg Israeli Religious Association (IRGW) and certain others were stronly Left leaning, and some things could not be left unchallenged.

The opening speech form IGRW head speaker Barbara Taub tore me out of lethargy with one key word. Among the many guests of honor that she greeted by name was Mustafa Ari, the Turkish General Consul in Stuttgart. After the next speaker, mayor of Stuttgart, Susanne Eisenmann, the national councilwoman for intercultural and interreligious dialog in Baden-Württemberg, Mrs. Regina Ammicht Quinn (photo above left), came to the lecturn. The list of guests whom she expressly greeted by name was considerably shorter, but the Turkish General Consul was on it. At this point, my chin fell to the ground because the same (the Turkish Consul) had stated in a letter three days before where he stood on the question of the notorious Turkish means of genocide against the Armenians with his formulation “Turkish and Armenian records contradict each other, a dependable and objective foundation for information is needed,” and referred to a subcommittee that is to be organized on which Turkey and the Armenians have agreed. What the results up until now look like from the many commisions involved in this are very well known, the comments from Erdogan just as well, and there is no need of further discussion here.

Here is the reader’s letter:

The original text in the newspaper was very short then:

A historic day that goes way back in Turkey: Armenian Christians celebrated a worship service in the Church of the Holy Cross on September 19th on the Lake Van island Akdam – the first in 115 years, since the 1895 massacre against the Armenians in the Ottoman Empire, which was followed twenty years later with targeted mass murders and expulsion, which Ankara to this day will not recognize as genocide…[ ]

After that, Charlotte Knobloch held a speech in which she complained among other things that the attack against the Mainz synagogue had received too little attention in the media and among the population. She surprisingly held back from making a statement about the presumed circle of criminals. I guess that she, out of experience, didn’t come to the conclusion that culprits from a certain religion commit and have committed such heinous crimes.

In the next platform discussion about the subject of “Jewish Life in Germany” with moderator Micha Guttman, the following participants were present: Hans-Jakob Ginsburg, editor of Wirtschaftswoche; Ulrich Sahm, Tel Aviv; Elvira Grözinger, Berlin and Tamas Ungavari, Budapest.

The conversation with moderator Guttman and his close friend Hans-Jakob Ginsburg was interesting. First he got stirred up over the fact that there are Jewish Islam critics in unbelievable numbers. Next, he summarized about Turkish female ministers in Germany, then quickly took the twist of demanding that the two highest national offices in Israel should be occupied with Arabs and Jews and demanded a minister post in the Israeli government for Arabs. Then he received the unfettered displeasure from the audience upon hearing that not only does a minister of Arab origin govern in Israel, but also Israelis of Arab origin are represented in the highest courts, and also among diplomatic foreign representation there are a few in the highest positions. Ginsburg introduced this flop in his dispute from the concept that he was speaking incoherently in rage over a former Berlin Finance Senator whom he mentioned right away by name and then verbatim described Sarrazin as a racist. He made no further explanation for the insult. Surprisingly – or is this really surprising – he wasn’t called back by moderator (this word comes from “moderate”) Guttman. In contrast to this, Ulrich W. Sahm was a pleasing highlight in the discussion. By the way, the general complaint on the platform was that Jews in some German cities cannot go about in the typical Jewish outfit, however mention of the group of people responsible for this was dodged.

(Unfortunately my video recording of the event had such an unacceptable sound quality that I could publish only parts of the platform discussion.)

Whether a mosque can be built there is not a “question of rights,” rather a “question of that which is right.” The ADL wrote in a statement: “In our judgment, building an Islamic center in the shadow of the World Trade Center will cause some victims more pain – unnecessarily – and that is not right.”

In any case, the building plan, whose supporters likely stand in ideological contradiction to common values, would be counterproductive in the healing process from the events on 9/11. The clear words of the influential ADL are a shock for New York’s mayor Michael Bloomberg who supports the plans for building the mosque. The discussion about the Islamic center in NYC has meanwhile developed into a national debate. Among the most prominent opponents of the “Cordoba” project is the former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

(Text by Ursula, regarding the PI series “Reasoning with Muslims — but how?” / Translation: Anders Denken)

If they start with the Crusades: The Crusades took place hundreds of years ago, and nobody has the right to legitimize injustice, violence, and murder, especially since most of the Muslim lands were completely untouched by them, and absolutely nobody has anything more to do with them nowadays — especially since they happened so long ago. In this context, the Muslim should be asked what he really knows about the Crusades, and whether he’s only knocking around words he has picked up from idle chatter.

In the past few years, untold comparisons have linked the lot of the Jews during Nazi times with that of the Muslims — and they have been seized upon for use by do-gooders and “I can do better than you” individuals. These comparisons lack any principles and criminalize a complete nationality, because our own people demonstrably don’t even have that many rights, privileges, and advantages. Moreover, these things serve to incite the masses because it is unspeakable that the million times worse suffering of the Jews 70 years ago could ever be compared to the lot of the Muslims.

Which brings us to the next subject: Honor Killings. In previous times, it has been demonstrated that even German men also beat their wives and murder them — often out of jealousy. Whereas that is forbidden among us, it is indeed encouraged in Islam. It can be read in the Quran. Not to mention the question of whether it happens more often among us or in the circles of Islamic culture.

As to the Quran: I don’t even need to address this subject here right now, but Muslims and do-gooders will gladly tell us that we have a mistranslation, that we infidels have misunderstood (what clearly can be understood from the contents), or that we’re wresting the Suras out of context. The reply to this is, if the Quran has been mistranslated, then why do you still act according to its content, and not provide a “correct” translation for you and us, and then explain the beauty and peacefulness of Islam again? Then you also misunderstand the Quran, so how can you tell us that we misunderstand it, when you yourselves are doing what the Quran says? If we’re taking it out of context, then explain the context to us.

The theme was called “Islamic Ideas about Paradise,” and in connection to this, it is very important to me by what means one can reach Paradise. As to the questions by the Munich PI group, they were in no wise “disruptions,” rather very clearly related to the subject at hand.

During the slaughter of Badr, the self-proclaimed prophet gave his followers the promise that “each one of them that would be slain in the battle would enter into Paradise according to Allah’s will. One of his warriors, Umayr bin al-Human, cried out, “So there is nothing that stands in the way between me and my entrance into Paradise, except for my death by these men?” Right then he was eating a couple of dates, threw them aside, rushed into battle and fought until he was killed. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to address Elfiky about this story because we were gracefully passed up on the discussion.

I had the opportunity, though, to catch Elfiky in a lie. After all, he asserted most earnestly that the self-proclaimed prophet had gotten along well with Jews. I then pointed out that he must have had an especially good understanding with the 600 – 800 imprisoned Jews that he beheaded partly by his own hand in Yathrib. We Jews were the first victims of the Muhammedins, and to this day we are still being persecuted by them. Look at the pictures of the Hezbollah warriors for yourself at how they salute each other with the Hitler greeting. Take a gander at the sales numbers for “Mein Kampf” in Arab countries, especially in Turkey up to 2005. Read the Hamas Charter through, where the prophet Muhammad is cited as saying:

The Last Judgment will not come so long as the Muslims do not fight and kill the Jews. But then, the Jews will hide themselves behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will call out: ‘Oh Muslim, there is a Jew hidden behind me, come and kill him.’ (Article 7)

In regards to this, I am very happy with the affinity that PI has with Israel. Eckhardt Kiwitt believes that Islam is no religion, but much rather a “political ideology similar to national socialism (Nazism).” By virtue of this, he finds himself in good company. The French philosopher Michel Onfray comes to the conclusion in his book “Traité d’athéologie” (“Treatise on the study of atheism” not in English yet, or the German title “We need no God“) that the epoch of fascism in the 20th century had the greatest variety of colors. There was the brown, the red and the black fascism. They all drowned in the current; only one has saved itself in the 21st century, and there is no end in sight for it: the well-anchored green fascism of the self-proclaimed prophet following the Ayatollah Khomeini’s seizure of power in Iran. And these fascists believe on the word of their god Allah that has been unalterably stated for for all time in the Quran. This god points out the Jews many times as “apes and pigs” (Sura 2, verse 65 / Sura 5, verse 60 / Sura 7, verse 166).

Mr. Boie, it doesn’t matter if you are a Christian, an atheist, or any other “infidel,” you will by no means escape the tirades of hate by this vengeful god. For Allah was apparently pretty sour about the fact that most of those on the Arab peninsula who believed otherwise viewed the new philosophy of his prophet as deception and counterfeit. The same is true today. It is about these facts that you, we, and those of other faiths in the Western world must debate. To look away, to trivialize and whitewash them over is exceedingly dangerous, if not to say careless and irresponsible. Read the Quran; you will comprehend what kind of monstrous danger we are being exposed to.

As to the comment area on PI, I partly agree with you. Some comments truly are hostile to foreigners and end up deleted anyway. You must not forget that there are many enemies of PI that, like unseen “submarines,” put together comments and even create screenshots so that they can use them to blackball PI. For me personally, hostility to foreigners is most profoundly strange. I believe I have more foreign friends than native. But also among my conservative compatriots – I am rather to be classified in the left spectrum – they can’t produce hostility to foreigners. For us, it has to do with an the ideology against which we are battling using all the legal means available to us.

Like Henryk M. Broder, it makes us want to throw up when we must sit in the same room with NPD individuals as well. Willi Schwend, from the BPE committee, made that unmistakably clear in our last meeting at the guild house. We have no room for right-wing or left-wing radicals. The NPD, by the way, is right friendly with Muhammadins, at least when it has to do with Israel. That should cause you to think a little. In my view, converts to Islam are the worst kind anyway. That is where terrorism has been preprogrammed, as we see in Germany with the “Sauerland terrorists,” and very recently in America with “Jihad Jane.” Deep down inside, the one who converts to Islam is a Nazi.

Our Munich PI group is presently one of the most active in Germany. We see ourselves as forerunners and wish to animate all the others to follow our example. I am always glad for each commentator who says “People, this is how we also do it.” At one time, Munich was the capital for a very unhealthy movement, however, this time it will be the capital for the countermovement against green Nazism. April 8, 2010 is just about here, and we are inviting all to the guild house to a presentation by Michael Mannheimer about “Eurabia, the Islamization of Europe.” You, of course, are also cordially invited to this event, and naturally for the sake of SZ’s press coverage, but please stick to the truth. Otherwise you will be argumentatively dissected, that’s something I can guarantee you.

With friendly greetings,
Monika Kaufmann

Several know-it-alls have already compared the protective wall between Israel and Palestine which has only been built because of the flourishing Palestinian terrorism to the Berlin Wall. To claim this is not only popular and politically correct, it is now even art: The project “Wall on Wall” of the German photographer Kai Wiedenhöfer has been approved. Apparently there are plans to exhibit panoramic photographs of the borders of the world at the Berlin East Side Gallery in fall. Among others the exhibition will show photographs of the wall between Israel and Palestine, the border fence between the U.S. and Mexico as well as of the ‘Peace Line’ in Belfast.

On Petitiononline an open letter has been published by which you get the possibility to protest against this “art project” . Read here the text from Petitiononline:

Earlier this year, the Council of the Berlin Borough of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg gave its approval to the exhibition “Wall on Wall” at the East Side Gallery by the river Spree. The Gallery is the longest remaining part of the former Berlin Wall, the most visible expression of the former German Democratic Republic’s dictatorial one-party system.

However, the final decision on the open-air exhibition has time and again been postponed; the Borough Assembly of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg is now expected to reach a conclusive decision on April 23, 2008. The Borough’s Cultural Committee will first discuss the project on April 16. So far the German Social Democratic Party of Germany, the Left Party’s federal working group “Shalom Berlin der Linksjugend [`solid]” as well as a number of Members of the German Parliament have disassociated themselves from the project in public.

Of course, criticism – of isolation, of walls (particularly inside people’s heads), of racism as well as of the refusal to offer protection to those in need – is an elementary part of any democracy. Especially since the 1990s, many groups, organizations, politicians and committed people from all walks of all life in the Federal Republic of German have actively worked with refugees and against anti-racism, this in view of the fact that since the 1990s attacks on refugees and migrants and their killings by neo-Nazis have increased to an unprecedented extent. More than 100 people defined as ›un-German‹ by neo-Nazis were killed since.

What though is the point of the “Wall on Wall” project that is under discussion? For a few weeks pictures taken by the photographer Kai Wiedenhöfer are to be shown on the East Side Gallery’s walls. Wiedenhöfer himself initiated the project. In 2007 he published a book of illustrations showing photographs of Israel’s anti-terror wall between Israel and the Palestinian Autonomous Territories.

Between September 29, 2000 and December 1, 2004 a total of 919 Israelis were killed in Israel by Palestinian terrorists. 6,123 Israelis were injured. During this period 20,416 terrorist attacks took place.

The purpose of the wall, which is actually in large parts a fence, is to prevent and protect people from terrorist attacks which have been occurring on a daily basis. Like the recent attack on the fuel depot Nahal Oz where two Jewish people were killed. One of them leaves behind his ex-wife as well as a daughter in Germany.

Wiedenhöfer’s photo book shows 50 double-paged panorama style pictures of the anti-terror protection wall in Israel. The photographs were taken between 2003 and 2006 and display different perspectives on the wall. Harmless horses, small children and Arabic women with headscarves are shown standing opposite Israeli soldiers, facing this fence or wall. For Wiedenhöfer the Jews are the perpetrators, Palestinians are displayed as victims. There is not a single photograph of a Jew blown to pieces by an Islamic-Arabic suicide bomber. Not a single fanatic Jihad fighter set against the Jews by the terrorist organisation Hamas or by preachers in West Bank mosques is to be seen. For years they have been using their own civilian population as shields or as smugglers of bombs. The fence is directed against these terrorists. Israel is the only democratic state in the Middle East. Over one million of its citizens are Arabs. The Israeli Minister of Sciences and Sport is Arab. These Arabs prefer to live in Israel rather than under an undemocratic, Islamic-Arabic regime.

Whoever compares the Berlin Wall – a symbol of dictatorship, a rejection of a Western liberal attitude – to the Israeli fence that is directed against attacks by Palestinian and other anti-Semitic terrorists, acts irresponsibly and with an anti-Semitic attitude. It is a feature of modern anti-Semitism to compare or equate Israel to dictatorships. This is exemplified by Wiedenhöfer’s photo book which was published last year. On pages 92/93 it shows a photo of the protective wall smeared by anti-Semites as follows: »Warsaw 1943«, flanked by swastikas and the Star of David, next to it »American Money – Israeli Apartheid«. Equating the Warsaw Ghettoes with the situation Palestinians in the Palestinian Autonomous Territories are finding themselves in today is a typical and particularly disgraceful case of anti-Semitism. Jews are likened to their murderers, i.e. German Nazis. The European Union’s working definition of anti-Semitism as well as international research on anti-Semitism have analyzed this as being judeophobia.

It is intended to expand the exhibition to include depictions of border installations in the U.S./Mexico, in south-western Europe or in Northern Ireland, yet this does not affect the basic spirit in which this scandalous exhibition was conceived.

We are finding it hard to believe that members of the Green Party, the largest party in the Borough Assembly of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, intend to support such an exhibition, since some of its members used to represent the former “Bündnis 90”, an opposition movement in the former German Democratic Republic. One would not expect them to favour a grotesque playing down of the Berlin Wall.

Whoever turns against the anti-terror fence – built as a mere protection for Israel – closes his or her eyes to the fact that without the fence every day people in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem would feel scared to death on any bus on their way to work.

Should the Borough Assembly of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg decide in favour of the anti-Semitic exhibition “Wall on Wall”, we will see this as a sign that nothing has been learnt from history. We will understand that the Borough supports anti-Semitism, anti-Americanism as well as a playing down of the GDR’s Berlin Wall, so hostile to human beings.

We demand from the Borough Assembly of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg in Berlin:

No space for the anti-Israeli exhibition „Wall on Wall“ by the Berlin Wall

No playing down of the dictatorship of the state party in the former GDR nor of the prison that the GDR meant to its people

No equating of democracies such as Israel, Europe, Northern Ireland and the U.S. with a dictatorship (GDR)

We furthermore demand from the Borough Assembly of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg:

No space for the plotting of anti-Semitic world conspiracy theories such as they are part of the exhibition organized by Kai Wiedenhöfer (Israel – Nazis – U.S. – money – Israel’s »Apartheid«)

The creation of a partnership with the Israeli town of Sderot which is under daily threat by rockets from the Gaza Strip, analogous to the twinning of the Borough of Tempelhof-Schöneberg with the Israeli town of Nahariya

Solidarity with the State of Israel and a telegram congratulating on its 60th anniversary.

It is for me, a Jewess, an honour to be invited to share your thoughts tonight. I feel it as a duty to you and as a sign of hope to discuss with you of both the bonds that bind us together and the mortal danger that in a not too far future might destroy us together by suppressing the spiritual foundations which we share: the Judeo-Christian civilization.

Written by Bat Ye’or. Lecture held at the 3th International Church-Congress (Kirche in Not), April 11 2008 in Augsburg, Germany

It is not the first time that I speak to a Christian audience. As a daughter of Israel who studied step by step the anguish, agony and death of the greatest Christian empire destroyed by the Arab-Muslim invasion, I realized very soon the nature of the modern, yet ancient threat. My book, The Decline of Eastern Christianity, published in a German edition also, was a long painful voyage that I undertook in the company of ghosts, taking me to destroyed cities, emptied villages and towns in the path of a millenary jihad. And I was wondering: What kept the faith, the resistance of the Christians?

I read very carefully the old testimonies of Christians. Along the roads of deportations, while walking on the edge of an abyss of evil, they recited Job, they internalized the words of the prophet Isaiah. They advanced in the steps of the Children of Israel. The description of the 8th century cleric, Pseudo-Denys of Tell-Marhe, a village in Iraq, of the utter destruction, enslavement and pillage of the native Christian and Jewish population by Arab-Muslim invaders, is interwoven with biblical lamentations, connecting Christian ordeals with Israel sufferings more than a millennium before. The tribulations of Christians in Islamic lands went with Jewish tribulations throughout the centuries. In the 17th century an Armenian cleric, Arakel of Tabriz describes the martyrdom endured by Jews under Shah Abbas II. This report follows his narration of the terrible mass deportation of the Armenians under Shah Abbas 1st where he evoked the march of the Israelites guided by Moses. The Bible was the rock and the solace in time of despair. Hebrew prophets were the companions of Christians persecuted by Islam.

I have tried to explain to Europeans the theological and legal context of the persecutions of Christians today in Muslim lands. I called this context – which is the same for Jews – dhimmitude. I did this at the request of Eastern Christians who told me: Because you are Jewish, the Christians will listen to you. From them I learned how deep and profound are our bonds. The Bible is as precious in their heart as their life. When I was fed up with the animosity against me, I would remember their trust in me.

I know that many in the Church have chosen another path. But the Church is saved through the Jewish Jesus, not through Isa, the Muslim Jesus who is the channel to Islamize the Church. Many saw the Palestinian Muslim Jesus as an opening toward the Muslim world, a wonderful occasion for a definitive separation from Israel. But it has only chained the Church to dhimmitude.

We are now living in a time of global jihad and of dhimmitude. Jihad is the religious effort to expand the domination of Islam all over the world. Military jihad covers several fields: wars, terrorism, abduction, ransom, enslavement, and armistice conditions. The soft-jihad encompasses the spiritual jihad waged peacefully: propaganda and proselytism (da’wa); subversion of Western culture and societies by multiculturalism, and the insertion of shari’a values and laws in Europe; the corruption of influential infidels in high position to facilitates Islam’s expansion and conquest. Jihad is as old as Islam – it is an ideology, a doctrine, a legislation based on religious texts; it has a global strategy, a world vision, and today it expands through a worldwide network. It has been waged for thirteen centuries against non-Muslims, mainly Christians. Jihad is a religious obligation for the Muslim community which has a divine mandate to impose Islam all over the world.

According to the jihad doctrine, the non-Muslim population is given a choice: conversion to Islam or submission to the Muslim authority and payment of a security ransom, the jizya. If they refuse both they are confronted with a war which entails massacres, destruction and enslavement.

When a non-Muslim population accepts to submit to Islam, it is obliged to pay a tribute for its own security. It becomes a dhimmi or a protected people. You may ask: Protected from what? They are protected from the jihad onslaught. Because Muslims recognize only two types of relationship with non-Muslims: either war or submission – what I call dhimmitude. Native Jews and Christians in their Islamized countries, are protected as long as they pay the poll-tax, several other tributes, and submit to very oppressive and discriminatory shari’a regulations. Jihad and dhimmitude are the two forces that have decimated the indigenous non-Muslim populations in their Islamized homelands. Today, jihad is displayed in all its traditional manifestations: military and economic warfare, terror, abductions, corruption of Western politicians and media in order to control the media, the universities and public opinion.

Islamic law covers the rights and obligations of the dhimmis in great details. This has been the subject of my research over the years. I call dhimmitude the Islamic system of governing the non-Muslim peoples. This system is linked to jihad and like jihad it is a theological, political and legal institution. Dhimmitude is, in fact, the peaceful continuation of jihad because it is dhimmitude that has destroyed the massive non-Muslim majorities, mainly Christians, that were conquered and subdued.

Wars are fought on several levels but the spiritual one is probably the most important. The theological divergences that we, Jews and Christians, have with Islam have been obfuscated, yet we must know them in order to solve them. We must know that the Koran mentions biblical names like Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Moses, David, Solomon, others and Jesus: all of them are considered to have been Muslim prophets who preached Islam. But in fact these Koranic figures are very different from those in the Bible. For Muslims, Jesus is a Muslim prophet called Isa, endowed in the Koran with a different life. He is believed to have brought, like Mohammed, a revealed book, the Gospel in which he preached Islam.

So, then, we have a Jesus named Isa who is a Muslim prophet, competing with the Jewish Jesus, “born in Bethlehem of Judea” (Matthew 2:1). According to several hadiths – Muslim sacred texts – Isa has a mission: at the end of time he will return to destroy Christianity and to impose Islam as the sole religion over the whole world. These hadiths, often quoted in sermons, speak of him killing the pig, breaking the cross – which means in Islamic language: destroying Christianity – and the hadiths continue: he will suppress the jizya or poll-tax imposed on all non-Muslims and the booty will be boundless. (Sahih Muslim, vl.1, p.287; Sunan Abu Dawud, Book of Battles 37:4310.) The suppression of the jizya refers to the suppressions of all religions except Islam. So it means that when Jesus/Isa will come back he will suppress Christianity and all other religions and Islam will be the sole religion for humanity.

So in the Islamic optic, what is Christianity? Christianity is a falsification of Islam and of the true message of Isa, which is the same as that revealed to Muhammad. It follows that a good Christian is a Muslim. A good Christian must go back to his former religion, which is Islam. True Christianity is therefore Islam.

In short: Jews and Christians are left with what? The true Bible is the Koran, the Holy Scriptures of Jews and Christians are just falsifications, and all the biblical figures are Muslim prophets who preached Islam. In practice, what are the consequences?

1) Biblical narrative in the Holy Land is Muslim history, and Jews and Christians had no history there since they came after Islam. Their sacred scriptures are in the Koran, not in the Bible. This motivates Muslim opposition to the legitimacy of the State of Israel, because the Bible is considered a travesty of Muslim history.

2) Because Judaism and Christianity originate from one unique trunk, which is Islam, Muslims say that these two religions are unrelated. They deny that Christianity unfolded from Judaism. This is why the Islamized Churches in the Muslim world have developed a kind of Marcionism, abandoning the Jewish Jesus in order to link Christianity to the Muslim Isa who is not even mentioned as a Palestinian Arab in the Koran, since no towns or place from the Holy Land, not even Jerusalem, are ever mentioned in the Koran. The Koran does not mention where Isa was born, nor where he lived. But Muslims say that he is the real Jesus. Some Palestinian and Arab Churches (particularly in the Sabeel Centre in Jerusalem) tried to come closer to Islam by destroying the Jewish roots of Christianity. This current is growing in Europe, supported by the antisemitic/anti-Zionist movement created by Palestinianism.

Palestinianism is the best tool to destroy Christianity. In the Islamic context, Palestinians incarnate the jihadist ideology against infidels and also the Muslim replacement theology. The Palestinian war against Israel is based on the Koranic teaching that all the biblical prophets and kings and Jesus are Muslim prophets and that the biblical story is in fact a Muslim story whose truth is in the Koran, not the Bible.

Under the pressure of Palestinian terrorism in the late 1960s and the oil boycott (October 1973), Europe supported the Palestinian jihad against Israel. Since 1973, the Palestinian jihad has become a joint Euro-Arab policy and culture: this is Eurabia. By justifying the Palestinian jihad against Israel, Europe went into a suicidal dynamic that legitimize its own destruction and that of Christianity. The whole policy of Eurabia focuses on uniting Europe with the Muslim-Arab world, while suppressing its links with Israel, its spiritual roots.

The cultural and media war in Europe to delegitimize Israel accredits the Muslim belief that Jews and, therefore, Christians have no historical roots in the Holy Land. If Jews have no legitimacy in the Holy Land, it is the same for Christians, because Jesus is the Muslim Jesus – Isa. Another consequence of Muslim replacement theology is that when we speak of Judeo-Christian values we are, in fact, referring to Muslim values, because there are no Judeo-Christian values, since both Christianity and Judaism developed from a false interpretation of Islam. And when we refer to biblical narratives and figures, or to their iconography, we offend Muslims because they do not fit into the koranic model.

It is my opinion that we are now living in a period of reactivated jihad and dhimmitude. Those of you who have worked in South Sudan and Darfur and who have seen the atrocities there will recognize these legal tactics of jihad described in my books or in any Muslim texts on jihad from the 8-9 century onward. What happens in Sudan, Darfur, Iraq and other places evoke events described in Mesopotamia by Christian clerics, by Armenian chronicles, by Jews in the Holy Land, by Copts describing Muslim internal feuds and atrocities in Egypt – and with the passing centuries we see this same pattern of endless wars and persecution of Jews and Christians in the chronicle of the Jacobite Patriarch of Antioch, Michael the Syrian, that covers a period till the end of the 12 century. We have numerous accounts on the devastation by the Arabs and Turks in Anatolia, in the Balkanic regions and all along the European Mediterranean coasts and on the European islands. Throughout the centuries we see this same war, the same tactics of jihad repeated against Jews and Christians in different places of the world. Abduction of Christians and Jews to obtain a ransom – like what happened recently in Iraq to Archbishop Paulos Faraj Rahho of Mossul – was a common practice in all the lands of Islam. Historical testimonies on such cases were endless. In the Vatican there is a huge amount of letters from Christian families asking for money to pay the ransom of millions of European Christians, men, women and children that were abducted and reduced to slavery, and this went on for centuries. Jewish and Christian communities in the Muslim lands were ruined by such demands. Now in Egypt, young Coptic women are abducted to force them to convert.

The reactivation of the jihad spirit inherent to Islam has reinforced dhimmitude against non Muslims – mainly Christians – in most Muslim countries. Shari’a laws – or laws inspired by shari’a – discriminate against Christians, since almost all Jews fled or were expelled. So now it is the Christians – in Iraq, Syria, Egypt and elsewhere – who are leaving because in Islam, anti-Jewish hate is always connected to anti-Christian hate and vice-versa as it grows from the same religious source.

For decades, Europeans have been conditioned by the denial of the history of jihad and dhimmitude. Such policy led Europe into a suicidal dynamic. The repudiation of Israel’s historical legitimacy in its own land, supports its replacement by a jihadist world-order with its Islamic conception of justice that seeks to debase or suppress all non-Muslim religions. This same doctrine denies Europe’s own sovereignty and legitimacy and justifies the jihad against Europe – against Christianity. This Western adhesion to the jihad waged against Israel has perverted its own values and precludes Europe to understand now the dangers that challenge its own survival.

For Christians, Israel is central in this context, because jihad is waged in the name of Islamic replacement theology against Jews and Christians, so that Isa replaces Jesus, and the Koran replaces the Gospel. Christians are linked to the Jews by the Bible. If Christians want to break from this bond, they will have to forego the First Testament, including the Ten Commandments, the Prophets, and the Psalms and somehow find a way to link the Gospel to the Palestinian Muslim Isa of the Koran. This is the aim of the Palestinian Liberation Theology. The challenge that Christians are facing now is not only a military jihad, but also a spiritual/cultural jihad, which is the Islamization of the roots of Christian theology. And this is the spiritual meaning of Israel for Christians now: either Christians will resist or they will convert and Europe will become one more Islamized Christian territory. The jihad against Israel is also a war against the Christian world

Having devoted more than 30 years of my life studying the system of dhimmitude applied to Christians, I am now of the opinion that Europe has become the new land of dhimmitude and I will explain why. I have described in Eurabia, my last book, the causes that have triggered the dhimmitude of Europe. I will explain why politically and intellectually we have been conditioned to become dhimmis, without even knowing it because we do not recognize its signs, as this history has been denied.

1) Muslims consider that there is no Judeo-Christian civilisation so our European leaders have decided to agree that Europe has no Judeo-Christian roots, in order to integrate the Muslim immigrant population.

2) Muslim law forbids non-Muslims, under pain of death, to criticize Islam and shari’a. Hence the European Union, fearing to irritate Muslims, has complied to this rule and has obfuscated the regime of terror and discrimination against Christians in most Muslim lands.

3) The EU leaders are suppressing any critics of jihad for the same reason. We are supposed to respect the Muslim view that jihad is always just because it implements the law of Allah and humiliates unbelief. From our perspective jihad has been and still is a genocidal war. Yet we are supposed to praise it. When the Pope, in his Regensburg lecture, quoted a 15th century Byzantine emperor stating that Islam developed by the sword, Muslims protested, accusing him of Islamophobia, and saying that Islam developed peacefully. We are supposed to admire and avoid criticizing jihad, although it was jihad that destroyed and Islamized the Christian world. We see that the spiritual war directed against the Judeo-Christian values wants to condition our mind so that we will praise what will destroy us.

4) For Muslims, unbelief is always the source of evil on the planet, and therefore it is the West, America, Israel that are always blamed for the terrorism and crimes done by Muslims. It is written in a hadith: “There would come people amongst Muslims on the Day of Resurrection with as heavy sins as a mountain and Allah would forgive them and He would place in their stead the Jews and the Christians” (Muslim, vol. 4, chap. 1149, 6668). There are many such hadiths stating that guilt will be taken from Muslims’ shoulders and transferred upon Christians and Jews. The strange thing is that Christians accept this reasoning and instead of seeing the supremacist doctrine of jihad as the real source of war and terror, they accuse the existence of Israel and its self-defence policy. Christians have even unconsciously internalized upon themselves the Muslim transfer of guilt. They have adopted the jihadist view that the resistance of the victim of jihad is an aggression and Islamophobic.

We consider that dhimmitude is a dehumanizing system, but for Muslims it is a generous tolerance offered to non-Muslims. So now, in order to accommodate the Muslims and their integration in Europe, our leaders have promoted in Europe the Islamic view of history. For this reason, Europeans ignore totally what is jihad and what is dhimmitude. So what are we going to teach in schools and universities in Europe – the Islamic version of Islamic superiority and Western guilt or the Western one based on historical facts and documents?

We are currently living a period of global jihad, which tomorrow can develop into a nuclear jihad and we don’t know it, nor do we know how to defend ourselves. We are living a period of dhimmitude, we are conditioned by dhimmitude to accept the Muslim version of our history and we do not realize it because the historical framework of the past, of jihad and dhimmitude, has been obfuscated.

Let me conclude: There has been several interfaith dialogues for decades but with poor results. Europe has paid tens of billions to Muslim countries worldwide, buying its security, but the culture of jihad is blossoming in Europe and in the Arab countries in spite of Europe’s appeasement policy. Palestinianism which is a replacement theology was the tool that led to Europe’s Islamization and dhimmitude. By joining the Muslim jihad against Israel, Europe has obfuscated its own history and, now faced with a global jihad, it is unable to assess correctly the situation and defend itself. But a continent that bases its survival on appeasement, tributes, and self-denial is already a dead continent.

Israel represents the liberation of man from the slavery of dhimmitude, whereas Palestinianism represents the jihad and dhimmitude ideology based on replacement theology. Europe, enslaved by Palestinianism, has chosen servitude instead of freedom.

If we want peace to prevail, the Muslim world must abandon the jihadist ideology and must recognise Jews and Christians as different and not see them as apostate Muslims, who have to return to Islam. And this must start with Muslim recognition of the legitimacy of Israel, because jihad started against the Jews and it can only end with the rehabilitation of the Jews and Israel, and this will bring the rehabilitation of Christians and of all non-Muslims. We can achieve it if we speak the truth, if we teach about jihad and dhimmitude. Then, masses of peaceful Muslims, liberated from the jihadist ideology of hate, which many oppose or ignore, will join us willingly, to build together peace. But we cannot help the peaceful Muslims if we cannot even help ourselves – if we are swamped in dhimmitude. Now if you have patience for one more minute, I will say that the future of Europe is your responsibility – it is for you to act and to save what Christianity has built and the values that are yours, but if you are passive, you will not succeed, because the time is already very late. It is not your fault, if you don’t know, but it is your duty to know, to instruct others and also to learn – it is your duty to learn and instruct others who cannot learn – it is your responsibility.

The stabbing of a rabbi (see picture) in Frankfurt/Main almost two weeks ago is old news by now. Old news, too, is that the police arrested a “German of Afghan parentage” as the perpetrator last Thursday. The 22-year-old admitted to stabbing the rabbi, prosecutors said in a statement. The man is being investigated on suspicion of attempted manslaughter and aggravated battery.

Guest contribute by the Editrix

According to the rabbi, the assailant said “I’ll kill you, you Scheiß-Jude.” [Expletives are hardly translatable -- Scheiß=shit, Jude=Jew].

Prosecutors said that the suspect — whose name they did not release — denies having either, any intention of killing the rabbi or any antisemitic motive.

Of course not. Nobody who rams a 7 1/2-centimetre blade into somebody’s abdomen has intention of killing the recipient of this attention. That is true. As true as the suspect’s statement that he felt threatened by and physically inferior to the middle-aged, obese rabbi and so reached for his knife. As true as he picked by mere chance a man to attack who was, by his outfit, easily identifiable as Jew. As Henryk M. Broder put it: “Here we have another case of self-defense, where the provocateur leaps aggressively into the provocatee’s knife as an answer to a friendly “salam aleikum”.

Unable to help themselves either were the usual suspects. German politicians and celebrities spouted the prescribed politically correct dismay-drivel, the total meaningless of which was perversely proven by the man who jumped the queue to give words to his somewhat predictable abhorrence. Roland Koch (picture), premier of the state of Hessen, called the attack, not even trying to be original, a “perfidious act that we can only view with horror and indignation and most strongly condemn.

That is the same Roland Koch, mind you, who, at the time when the scandal concerning illegal donations to his party, CDU, was unearthed, came under considerable pressure when it expired that the Hesse CDU (of which he is chairman) had for many years kept illegal bank accounts abroad, bank accounts, which had been used to finance Koch’s election campaign.

But back to our German with Afghan parentage perpetrator. It lately expired that, not earlier than in January, that very man had been arrested and “cautioned” by the Frankfurt-Höchst juvenile court (at 21 or 22!) and got a whopping juvenile custodial sentence of two weeks for aggravated battery, intimidation and criminal damage. In May he got a penalty order for 600 Euro because of bodily injury and intimidation.

He was then convicted by a local court because he had demolished an elevator in the house where he lived. When the caretaker asked him to pay for the repair he shot at the man four times with an alarm gun and wounded him in the face. Next day, he threatened two neighbours with a knife, informing them in the process, presumably to give more clout to his threats, that he had killed another neighbour just the day before.

In May he was convicted because of an assault in a bus. He socked a man in the face because he (the man) had kindly asked him to let him pass. When the bus driver tried to call the police and refused to open the door, he threatened him (the bus driver) with a knife saying: “I’ll cut your throat” (or words to that effect). He then opened the door by force and escaped.

That was, so the report from the FAZ informs us ultra-conscientiously, “according to the judge’s opinion”. And who knows, maybe it’s really not true.

Whether the FAZ hacks couldn’t believe that a man who had REALLY done all that was set free again and again by several German courts, or whether they were just scared shitless is anybody’s guess.
